Beth Quinn Barnard founded micro-publishing house Straight Up Press in 2009 to publish My Phantom: The Memoir of Christine Daaé under the pseudonym Anstance Tamplin in a one-year experiment to test the market for a new novel by an unknown author backed by minimal, Internet-only marketing. The following year, Straight Up Press began reissuing as print-on-demand and digital books the backlist of novels she wrote as Elizabeth Quinn for Worldwide Library and Pocket Books. Two Elizabeth Quinn titles are currently available — Alliances and Any Day Now —  at online retailers Amazon, Kobo, and the iBookstore, and pre-production work is underway on her Alaska-based Lauren Maxwell mysteries.
